A few other places to drink..

I went to Seattle a few weeks ago for a little break. I finally made it to Zig Zag an outstanding bar on Western Avenue close to Pikes Place Market. I had some of the best cocktails I’ve had in some time. Their list consists of about twenty cocktails and a nice list of Single Malts and other spirits. Some of the highlights; A great drink called “Cloister” made with gin, yellow Chartreuse, grapefruit and lemon. Surprisingly refreshing and very well balanced. Another one is called “The Last Word” it’s a drink we offer from time to time here at Bourbon & Branch, Equal parts gin, green Chartreuse, Maraschino liquor and lime. One of the most interesting was a drink called “Trident” with Aquavit, Cynar, dry sherry and peach bitters. Very cool…

I was over in the east bay last weekend and stopped by Cesar in Berkeley. They may have one of the best spirits lists in the bay area, and is defiantly worth checking out if you have never been. Well-made drinks fantastic wine list and good food to boot.

And last but not least my new favorite bar here in the city is Cantina on Sutter street. Great drinks (most made with rum or Cachaca) and a terrific atmosphere! It is a great addition to the neighborhood…

At Bourbon & Branch this week…
Peaches are really good right now, so this week we will be featuring peach drink specials all week long. I hope to see you soon.

Cheers,

Todd Smith

Zig-Zag is my favorite bar in the Western hemisphere. (OK, you got me, my favorite bar in any hemisphere.) So glad you had a great time there. :)
