We hit the farmers market a couple of times a week. My favorite is in San Rafael but I shop at the Civic center and the Ferry building. It’s a great time of year for the market, last week my bar mate Ryan picked up some Pommelo’s, (also known as Chinese grapefruit) we made a great Tequila drink with fresh Pommelo Juice, Tequila and soda. (It tasted like fresh Squirt.)
In addition the Market, once or twice a month I shop at a couple of my favorite stores, Sur la table and Le Sanctuaire. You are probably familiar with Sur la Table a great kitchen ware store, (they have a store located in The Ferry Building) but you may not know Le Sanctuaire, (located down town) if you are into food and cooking you need to check out this store! They carry an amazing supply of hard to find, vinegars and oils, exotic seasonings and spices. In addition they have a great selection of cookbooks. We buy a lot of our spices and herbs here.
